Thank you so much Based on the above I concluded that it makes sense to stay with the Mac Mini, however to overcome the audio and other limitations of OSX, I should install Windows on it. They don't promise to resolve the issue but they do commit to taking a look at it. Not a lot of 2160p content around at the moment apart from Test clips and 4K/2160p Netflix and Amazon Prime Video. If you provide them your system specs and screenshots of your set-up and the steps you take to watch Netflix 4K content (and the failure) they will escalate the issue to senior technicians.

According to the support document only 'select 2018 or later Mac computers with an Apple T2 Security chip' are compatible with Ultra HD streaming. I talked to Netflix support and they said if you are having this problem please contact them directly. Netflix recently updated a Help Center webpage with new guidance on viewing 4K HDR content in Safari on macOS Big Sur, noting both operating system and hardware requirements, reports Apple Terminal.

I have found reports on the internet of Mac customers who upgraded to iMac retina 2017 computers, partitioned their hard drives, installed Windows 10, latest drivers, the Windows HEVC codec and cannot successfully stream UHD selected content in UHD/4K.
